How do I skip the preview when exporting to Excel

If you never want to make changes to the export settings, you can save time by bypassing the preview. This will send your data directly to Excel. This is not available for ppvote Matrix.

Bypass the results preview when exporting to Excel.

It is possible to skip the preview when exporting your data to Excel. This is useful if speed is essential and you don’t ever need to make any changes to what is included in your exports.

CAUTION: This is not easy to switch back on! Only do this if you never want to be able to view the data prior to export. Viewing the data is essential for controlling which groups are included in the export, so it’s useful to keep this if you ever use demographic grouping questions to split your data.

Add-ins > CLiKAPAD > Voting Results > View/Export to Excel.

Click the gear icon at the top right to go to Settings.

Tick the box that says Auto export to Excel.

How to switch the preview back on / turn off the auto export.

Open File Explorer and in the browse bar type %appdata% then press enter. This will show you all your appdata folders. Choose ppvote. Alternatively, you can browse to the folder yourself. An example of where you might find the app data is C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming.

Open the ppvote folder in File Explorer.

Open the ppv.ini file and scroll down until you find text that says AUTO EXPORT=1. This will be near the bottom of the page. Change this to say AUTO EXPORT=0 and save the file. You can now close the file.

Go to Add-ins > CLiKAPAD > Voting Results > View/Export to Excel and you should see the preview screen.
