Next Workshop closes off all assessments prior to an assessment determined by you. It will allow voting on all enabled assessments from that point onward only.
WARNING: Next Workshop is an advanced function. Do not use this until you have had time to fully familiarise yourself with it.
Think carefully before selecting the Next Workshop option. It is usually easiest to simply select and deselect assessments as needed. To enable/disable assessments, go to Preferences in Matrix and choose the Assessments tab. Simply tick or untick as needed. An unticked assessment can be enabled at any point during your workshop.
You can also run a workshop using the first set of assessments and then turn on further assessments at the next workshop by simply ticking them in the assessments tab.
Right, enough warnings... what is Next Workshop and how do you set it up?
When you start a Matrix process that already contains data for ALL selected items and active assessments (so is considered fully completed), you will be given the option to choose Next Workshop when you start the process.
Remember, if Next Workshop is chosen, Matrix will NOT run any earlier assessments, even if a new item is added.
Before you select Next Workshop, ensure that you know which assessments you have active and what starting assessment has been set. If you aren't sure, hit Cancel and set up the assessments.
See troubleshooting at the end of this article for guidance on what to do if you choose Next Workshop and things don't work as you expect them to!
In this example, you can see that 6 assessments have been set up and only 4 are enabled (have a tick next to them).
Assuming you are set up as above, when you run the workshop, only the first 4 assessments will be voted on, as those are the only ones that are selected.
If at the next session you wish to vote on remaining items in your list against the current set of assessments, you do not need to use Next Workshop. You simply need to select the item(s) you wish to vote on and then start your process.
Use the Next Workshop function if you wish to display previous assessment results on your graphs and list view but not allow any further voting on them, even for brand new items.
Clicking the Next Workshop button will allow you to determine which assessment your voting will start at when you choose the Next Workshop function.
Click the down arrow to see select from the list of assessments.
Select where you want to start from. Matrix will then start at that assessment and continue through any assessments that follow it and are enabled.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Clicked Next Workshop by accident and voting is now starting at a later assessment number rather than the first enabled assessment. Resolve by exiting your voting process and going to the assessments tab within preferences. Set Next Workshop to start at assessment one.
After choosing Next Workshop, the voting process doesn't start. Instead the Matrix graph is displayed. Resolve by checking in the assessments tab within preferences that the assessments left to run are enabled and that you have at least one item selected in the list view, then start your process.
