What if I have an error that isn't listed on here?
Trouble shooting steps for errors, when you don't know the cause and can't find a specific help page.
If you don't need to use the system immediately, you may wish to simply email support@clikapad.com or complete the form on this knowledge base to report the error. Always provide the error number and wording, ideally a screen shot and some information about what you were doing at the time the error occurred and whether you have successfully used the presentation and/or equipment before. It's also useful to know whether you have changed anything recently, like changing laptops or installing updates.
If your issue relates to a specific presentation but others are working, also send us the presentation to assess.
If you don't have time to wait, first you need to determine whether it is related to a specific slide, a specific presentation, the software on the whole or your hardware.
Another approach is to try the most common fix, rather than taking it step by step. Close down PowerPoint and any other programs that you have open. Reboot your computer. Then open PowerPoint without running any other software, just in case something else was causing an issue.
Does the issue involve the hardware? Hardware issues do not prevent votes from running or closing votes. If it's a hardware issue, everything else will appear normal but you simply won't be able to gather data, so you won't be able to show graphs. There are other articles relating to hardware and this one will focus on software.
Is it one slide or the whole presentation? Try voting on a different slide. Do you get the same error. If other slides function fine, either remove the slide, recreate it, or if you have another copy of the presentation, paste in a copy of a version that still works.
If the error happens on all slides not just one, first try another presentation. If others work, you can try to spot what is different between those and the one you are working on. Check where you have saved the file. It is not designed to work from an external drive or network drive. One Drive is also problematic. Check the save location of your working file and copy your presentation to there and then try running it. If you have an older version that works, you may have to run that one until you can find the issue.
If all presentations suffer the same error, we recommend that you try reinstalling the software. Click here to download version 5.2.0 and then run the installer. Remember that to install software you will need to be logged in with admin rights, so may need your IT department to assist you.
Unfortunately it isn't possible to cover every possible fix, but these notes will cure a large percentage of potential issues.
We would be grateful for your help with the expansion of the knowledge base. If you find an error that isn't listed, please let us know.
