How do you set up for maximum range?

Raising the height of the receiver improves range. There is a tripod thread on the underside of CB3 and CB4 receivers. Older models do not include this. Multiple receivers can be used.

When setting up for very large events, you will need to take steps to ensure maximum range.
The range to a single receiver is up to 450 feet, however the actual real life range is dependent on a number of external factors including room layout, position of receiver (the higher the better) and interference from other devices such as WiFi hotspots. The system is able to use multiple receivers to increase the range and to cover the farthest reaches of the room.
USB extenders of up to 12m can be used. Some USB to ethernet converters are also suitable. We have had success with a Lindy model. We recommend a maximum of 40m for extending via ethernet.
Thorough testing prior to using the system live is strongly advised. We cannot guarantee compatibility with other products.
IMPORTANT: Do not connect your receiver(s) via a USB hub. You need to connect to the native ports on the laptop.
The receiver / base station has a 1/4" thread on the bottom, which is the standard size for photographic equipment and tripods.

Here are some examples of the types of clamps that you can use to mount the base station

The radio channel used by the CLiKAPAD system can be changed if interference from other networks is suspected.
