Generally when the option to abstain is offered, users do not want the abstentions to affect the percentage votes
Setting abstain as just another voting option will have a different outcome to setting an abstain option in the software. For example you could use normal voting options as follows:
1. Yes
2. No
3. Abstain
If 100 people vote yes, 50 people vote no and 50 people vote abstain, the results would be:
Yes - 50%
No - 25%
Abstain - 25%
If you set up the Abstain option in the software the options would be:
1. Yes
2. No
0. Abstain
The results based on the votes listed in the example above would be:
Yes - 66.6%
No - 33.3%
Abstain - 50 votes
To set an abstain option go to Add-ins > CLiKAPAD > Slide Editor and use the tick box in the Answers tab. Please note there is also a Start From section. You cannot use start from 0 if you are using 0 for abstain. Start from 0 is for use when you want to ask a question with a 0-10 scale for example. It will include the zero in the percentage results.
