The notes below offer some solutions and our support team will be happy to assist if you have a device that is faulty but it is important to provide details of what the issue is.
These notes are only applicable if specific keypads are not working. If none of your keypads are able to cast votes, it is likely that you have an issue with the receiver settings. Click here for more information.
A - POWER
When you press a button on the keypad, does it light up the LED?
1. Yes, every time: skip to section B
2. Yes, sometimes:
One common issue may be a slightly loose battery terminal. To address this, carefully remove the batteries. You will notice that each terminal has a flat section that rests beneath the batteries and a small vertical section that makes contact with the side of the battery. This vertical section can become loose over time. Gently use a screwdriver to adjust it slightly inward, ensuring it creates a tighter connection when the batteries are reinserted. Repeat this adjustment for both terminals on each keypad that is experiencing issues.
Another possible cause is that the batteries are running low. In this case, you may find that it will vote once or twice but then no longer light up for a while. Then it may start working again after a short rest.
3. No - If replacing the batteries does not resolve the issue, try the advice in step 2 regarding adjustment of the vertical terminals. If the vertical terminals are broken, the keypad will not be able to draw power from the batteries and the keypad will need replacing.
B - CONFIGURATION
What does the LED show when you press a button?
1. The number that was pressed:
If the keypad shows the number that was test, it is receiving a reply from the receiver. Without a reply, the keypad's LED will circle. Use a clear test screen and vote only using the keypad that you are trying to diagnose. Check whether the vote is received and whether it is registered to the correct keypad number. It is possible for the keypad's internal configuration not to match the number sticker on the device. The keypad can be reprogrammed to the correct device number. Contact support@clikapad.com for assistance with changing the configuration of the keypad number.
2. The LED circles and then shows a t:
If all other keypads are working correctly, it's likely that there is a mismatch between the faulty keypad's configuration and that of the rest of the system. Click here for guidance on configuring the device.
